Crossbow bouncing

Yesterday while I was playing Half Life 2 I noticed that these heated metal bars you fire with your crossbow actually can jump along terrain like a skipping rock. It bounces off when they hit floor and walls if fired at the low angle. It really opens the new "fancy" ways of killing your enemies.

You have probably noticed that already but it is something new for me.

i never noticed until i was playing around in gmod, it's fun to shoot combine that way near the lake so they go flying into the air and into the water, it's like a game

I noticed it in Gmod aswell.

When trying to shoot a long distance target, it dropped to the floor and bounced.

I like bouncing them off the ground and then hitting an enemy.

Sometimes you can even hit a wall at a high angle (like 70 degrees or something) and bounce it completely around a corner, hard to do, but really cool if you hit a guy.

The best is in HL2DM. I once shot a bolt at a guy and he moved only to have the bolt bounce off the wall and kill him.

I also noticed that in Gmod.
Possibly it's because there really isnt much room in the real game for it to bounce.
