Heres some code to enhance Crysis' visuals and give you better FPS. Create a system.cfg file usinf Notepad and copy past the code below, then save the file in the Crysis main directory

-- [Game-Configuration]

Found it on another forum made by a guy called Doomlord52. Makes a massive difference to the visuals. The lighting is much better but some of the HDR is over the top (the flash lights are pure white!!) other than that looks alot better. Getting back into Crysis now thanks to this, shame Crytek didnt do this BEFORE releasing it

no one tried this yet?... or are you all amazed and cant tare yourself away from Crysis

can tou tell me how well your CPu performs with crysis?
I have almost the same set up as you I'm getting the Opteron for xmas....

I used to play at 1024*768 with everything on Mudium and Id get about 30fps. Since I've been using the above config the game looks ALOT better and runs at 40fps (drops to 25 when theres a massive fire fight).

Opteron CPUs are brillinat, they overclock very easily. A freid of mine oc'd theres to 3Ghx from 2.4Ghz

how do I create this cfg file?
is just a normal text pad?

thx for sharing info about the Opteron btw

OK open Notepad and copy and paste the code. Save the file as 'system.cfg' in the main Crysis directory (eg C:\Programfiles\EA\Crytek\Crysis)

Run the game and be shocked at how good it now looks and why Crytek couldnt do this

I haven't used that specific cfg, but I've been using another one that boosts FPS. It's doing a few qwerky things so I'm in the process of making one myself.

it depends on you system spec as that config was coded for Doomlords rig. There are other CFG files on that forum, give them a try
