if you could only have one of these as a multiplayer, which would, it be?

rf

edit: post now running
edit 2: i voted cs:s

Either CS:S or DOD:S... either way it's all good.

EDIT: Where's the poll?

EDIT#2: Nevermind. :rolling:

hl2dm i think. i only played it a few times but it was wicked fast and fun. cs was so serious and tough, unless if you played 9 yr olds who votekicked you if you were too good...

HL2DM all the way.

The source ports get old after a while, because we have "played" them before.

HL2DM offers all new stuff, like manipulator battles! :D

Seriously though.. think about what you are saying. CS:S and DOD:S will be new and improved using the same factors that worked for a long time.

HL2DM having manipulator battles? Do you know how that is going to kill the server's connection? I bet Valve isn't even going to put the manipulator in HL2DM like that.

Exactly! now make the cs junkies see it this way and we're heading for a HL2DM filled future.
I ought to manipulate thou behind

if we could have a post-release official HL2DM, i would certainly play it
("manipulator battles", that would be cool), or even a good mod, but i like cs and apparently cs:s is even better (i would have thought so), so thats why i voted for that

I would have preferred HL2DM as the official multiplayer released with the game (or an original interesting game mode)....but would still want cs:s as a mod.

Ok, even without that.

DOD:S and CS:S have no new maps, or weapons, or player classes. Just updated graphics, textures and sounds. (Is that completely true for DOD:S?)

But HL2DM has all new maps, (and probably some old classics converted) new weapons, (hl2 weapons) and the gameplay more integrated with the physics.

You can't really compare these though... Unless is was DOD 2, CS 2, and HL2DM.

i've played better games and stuck with them.
The question is, how the heck have you played HL2DM??

Or are you confused with regular Halflife DM?

Misreading and mistyping leads to mass confusion!

I NEVER play hldm! And when I do there is like 5 rooms each with a handfull of people saying, "man cs is so much better than this, cya!" so why would valve remake such a failure? Cs is the most popular online game EVER, so they made the right choice. Plus, there WILL be mods, so calm down.

have you heard of the physics key frame method Valve mentioned (calculates key frame's so it doesnt have to calculate the whole physic's interaction, smoothing it all out ). Your daft if you think it cant be competantly accomplished, dont under estimate new technology, or new net code.

these guys are good, and it would be about as bad as any CS:S server, calculating rag doll, explosions, moving object's, a refined code would be all it needed, it would'nt kill the connection atall.

That is now. 6 years AFTER the game was released. When HL DM was the coolest thing ever.

HL2DM will do the same thing. It is bringing new things in. And it, like HL DM, will get old. After a while.

exactly! that would kicks so much ass, having the manipulator to throw chairs and tables and all other kinds of objects at your opponent. i will miss it...

it's a pity, valve!

we dont want hldm, we want hl2dm

HL2 dm will blow chunks. I played HL1dm for about 5 - 10 min. I've been playing cs about 8 - 20 hours a week for 6 years.

And don't worry guys, there will be HL2dm i'm sure. Just not right away.

how can you play it through, it is a multi-player, not single player?

rf

If you were absolutely forcing me to choose between the three... I'd have to go with DOD:S. It has the best WW2 action of any of the WW2 games out there.

HL2DM would be fun for a while, but would eventually get boring without any playmodes besides straight up DM and TDM.

Now if we're talking about some totally new game type using the HL2 weapons and such... well, that's a different story.
