Yes, it's a pity they removed content that made no sense or would've meant shipping the game EVEN LATER or etc etc stock responses etc.

Yeah I remember reading about all the cut content. Some of it's kinda cool, too.

I made a post on another forum months ago about things I didn't like about HL2, and the cut content would have absolved most of it.

The Hydra? The MP Mod Obsidian Conflict has it. Not the model mind you, but the AI is in there and if you have a model you can use it. There is a map on there forums that has the Hydra plus a model.

It was cool to watch but it really really sucked to fight. Valve decided that it would take more effort to make it playable than enjoyment would have been gotten from the end result, so it was put on the chopping block.
