dark screen

when i try to play on-line i only get a dark screen with what looks like someones been mucking about with the horizontal hold(like you used to do on tv's),if your older than 25 you'll know what i mean lol.
any suggestions would be welcome ,thanks

:| ... only time that happens to be is if im trying to play on a resolution that my monitor doesnt support, I'm assuming your playing on ya default settings ?

ok,im tyring to play deathmatch,but i cant get into the game to change the settings,ive tried uninstalling it and installing it again but its still the same.

ok,i got online finally,thanks beerdude,but i got another question.does it always take ages for the stuff to download,(maps,sayings,weapons etc etc),once again in advance thanks

If your on about all files needed to join particular servers then it usually depends on your connection to the server and the server itself (e.g. where its hosted and what on). But overall, once you have a sounds / models etc you got em all and rarely need to download again.
