Holy ...

This game is my dream come true (well if it turns out to be as good as it looks)

No bullshit. Just you, the weapons, enemies and levels. No idiot telling you what to do over radio, no objective screen, you just ****ing play.

And weapon and enemy design also looks great. I dont need THAT much gore, especially because it probably wont come out like that in Germany XD
that wouldnt be a problem but Bethesda will probably region-lock again ...

Half-Life 3 can wait ;)

omg I just realized that Serious Sam 4 is also in development. And Machine Games (devs of the new Wolfenstein) probably also work on their next FPS. AND SHADOW WARRIOR 2!

The golden age of FPS is back.

Really though, I've been waiting for this game since I heard about it in 2007. It's ****ing amazing. The graphics are out of this world. It looks like concept art. Actually, it looks better.
The demons look like the old dude, cacodemons look like themselves, mancubuses look like themselves, revenants and so on.
SSG is going to be my best friend.

The modding community will be fun, multiplayer looks like Quake so that'll be intense.

Oh yeah, no regen health? No reloading? Double jumping? NO FALL DAMAGE? Yeah this is Doom.

Weapons look like they feel REALLY weak, though. And the gameplay in the demo was slower than I expected.

I still think it'll be great, though. Definitely looking forward to this.

Idk man, the SSG was one hit killing people point blank as it should. And the shotgun has a 3-shot burst. Weapons seem fine. They're blowing apart people ffs.

And the footage from hell was incredibly fast paced. Constant moving.

It looks good, worried about the music... sounds a bit dubstep-ish. I need my DOOM metal.

Beth mod platform really has me worried though.

half the time the guy playing looked like he was trying to use the shotgun as a ranged weapon

this game is my top priority, besides Godzilla PS4 and Mirror's Edge

We need the metal back, yes.

I don't know, the weapons just didn't seem like they packed as much of a punch, at least the Shotgun and Plasma Rifle didn't.

the soundtrack is from the same man who made the soundtrack for Wolfenstein the new order, so its gonna be great.

No ****ing way..... thank god. I ****ing loved the score for Wolfenstein. The theme song for Wolf is my favorite theme song ever... so heavy. And the guitars throughout the game ..... man this game is gonna rock

yea i can't wait for doom 4 like really it's probably gonna be one of the best games in a while

So I'm guessing they got rid of the mega textures, because the materials look really good compared to Wolfenstein TNO/TOB and Rage. Else, the game will be 100 gigs looking this good.

time to buy a new graphics card I guess

Yeah, id Tech 666 will be much better than id Tech 5.
time to buy a new graphics card I guess
The sad thing is that I upgraded to a GTX 660 a few months ago. I barely meet the minimum requirements of Witcher 3 and the next Hitman. I'm worried about Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, Dishonored 2, and Doom, honestly.

My logic is: since Doom will be at 1080p at 60FPS on the pleb-consoles, a mid-range computer should do just fine for matching those settings:)

However, knowing id, PC will have Ultra settings and shit.

the new Deus Ex looks incredible.
It's gonna be so, so good. Spring 2016 will be gaming nirvana for me, with Mankind Divided and Dishonored 2.

On topic. Mid-range PC doing fine isn't always the case. *cough* AC: Unity *cough*

But since it's id, being a PC-first company, I think we'll be fine.

also the game seems to take place inside a research facility or something on Mars like Doom 3 and mostly in corridors and stuff, so optimizing the game should be easy.

Witcher 3 maxed out kills my performance even with a beastly PC *raises hand* (i7 5820k, 16gb ddr4 2666mhz ram and gtx 780), with hair physics on Geralt and animals/monsters in an open world.

Deus Ex MD will be linear but TressFX murdered my pc in TR2013, on one character. The former will have it on a npc's I think. That said, Doom will not have hairphysics, so it should run well on systems.

Yep, Bethesda actually has the chance to kickstart the renaissance for old school shooters. If it succeeds, others will follow, especially indies.

But given what they've shown, the game seems to lack vertical fighting and maze-like environments quite a bit. Essentially you have just a linear path or simple open space, surrounded by lots of secondary details and geometry. And speaking of bullshit, fatalities and executions still look heavily scripted. The positive side is that it's up to you to perform them - the game doesn't impose them on you.

Also, SnapMap is a joke. Expect hundreds of wannabe levels made of predefined chunks.

the map shown was obviously designed for a presentation at E3 (He found like 4 weapons in 10 minutes). I wouldnt make assumptions already about level design. SnapMap is great. Of course there will be 100 wannabe levels, but even more high quality ones.

Hm, back to DooM. I hope the game will be mega awesome, though it just feels a little... off. The old Dooms, and even III, were about you, your massive abs, and your shotgun against the Evulz coming from Hell. This one seems to have what looks like powered armour (more like Hellgate, or even Crysis), a generic helmet... I can't quite put my finger on it, but something just felt "not-doomy" enough. Maybe I am wrong - we have to wait and see, I guess. Besides it should not be long after release before someone attempts to recreate the old games in the new engine.

P.S.

I guess I am the only one who misses the weapon reload.

what? Thats exactly the same armor as in Doom 1 and Doom 1 and 2 also have no reload.
Ok in the original the armor only covered the body and head, but the helmet for example is exactly the same.

After watching the footage this quickly made it to the top of my hype list for this year. Love the slow-mo during weapon hot-swaps. It looks fast, frenzied and absolutely brutal and unforgiving with no bullshit. Yes please.

the weapon swap is like this for consoles, on PC you will use the number keys I hope! I hate when people switch weapons with mouse wheel xD

I'm one of those people who will play a single player FPS game on his PC while laying back non the sofa or chair after work. Yes, I know, I know--I've become a filthy casual.
