The pre-order discount is only $2.00 according to the Steam store, not that much of a big deal.

All in all, I liked the game. I might buy it, especially to see this multiplayer feature.

I think, deep down, this is what I was expecting computer games to be when I was 10. It's certainly got a Cannon Fodder feel to it and I love the graphical style.

There's no fiddly unit management to bog you down and it's not yet another ****ing world war 2 game.

I really enjoyed their first game, Uplink, and after playing this new demo I can't wait to play Darwinia too.

I have a question...is there a faster way to get your squads across the water toher than having them go through it?

I to would have had this game sooner if it hadn't been for the fact that the first demo was appaulingly bad, crashing every 10 minutes and the gesture system not recognising gestures was completely off putting.

Now that it appears to be stable (I've had no crashes after 3 runs of the demo) and there is an icon system for unit sellection, I can't wait for the game to go live on steam.

argh....is there any way to move squads over the water faster? it's soooo slow waiting for them.

The only way to send them from Island to island is via the radar stations, unless you're talking about the engineers who float everywhere.

Its a good idea to run through the tutorial. Its a bit slow going, but it gives you a good handle on the game. You need to get an engineer to a busted radar station. Once there he will repair it. When it goes BING, its repaired, hit space to deselect your selection, and click on the radar tower. You will get a new crosshair, aim at a radar thing on the other side of the water and click. they should link together, then just move your units onto either and they will teleport to the other one.
