Day One

I read this page about Half-Life: Day One - and something confused me;

They're talking about some "Huge scene with soldiers rappeling down from aircraft" in the end, and I assume it's Surface Tension, but i don't remember it in the real thing. What are they talking about?

And from what I know, that page has the first note about a G-Man sighting ever.

I was wandering around the facility, when I noticed through the window of a room with a locked door a scientist talking with a mysterious looking fellow in a black suit with a briefcase. Their conversation was muffled, but there was much gesticulating. The man in the suit glanced my way a couple of times. Later, while making my way to the surface after the accident, I encountered the same guy several times, always just out of reach, standing there with his briefcase and looking at me, but walking away and dissapearing before I could reach him. And I certainly didn't see him being attacked by aliens! As I said to Bill, I never got to the bottom of the "man in the suit mystery" in Halflife OEM, and I hope that the full version allows me to kill the mofo! And since the characters can talk, maybe he can beg for mercy on his knees first!

The point of this thread, since I realized there was no apparent one, is that it's a great read. Read it right away and laugh at the guy that thinks Half-Life is a rip-off of Hexen 2.

It's not that huge. There's this bit pretty soon near the beginning where a couple of Ospreys pony up and drop soldiers on you, so you run like a scared little scientist very far away.
