So... I've started watching this show on Discovery Channel.
It's already a few seasons old, but what I'm watching, I am mesmerized.
It's basically a show that films the events of Alaskan king crab fishermen out in the Bering sea. Well, several different ships and crews. Shows the highlights and dangers of the job(and I think some people actually died during the filming of it).
They say it's either one of the most dangerous jobs in the world, or the most dangerous job, since you have to face the unforgiving environment of the Bering Sea, one of the most unpredictable in the world or so I'm told.
Needless to say, it's an interesting watch, and quite amazing to see the raw beauty and destructive power of the ocean, as these fishing boats, some big and some small, ride the massive waves(which look amazing as they careen past the boat). One thing I thought was awesome was them catching air off the crashing waves. Basically when the boat went over a big wave and fell back down, they'd jump up and make it a good five or six feet in the air and come landing back down. That would be incredibly awesome and scary at the same time, especially on the smaller boats.
It's an interesting watch, and gives you some respect for the people who risk their lives catching the crabs that mainly wealthy people buy and eat.
