decals/overlays on props?

Not possible. Try putting a spray tag on one of the crates on de_dust2. Doesn't show up.
 
Well there hast to be some way, because how does blood get on people in the game when you shoot them?
 
That's coded in.
Unless you want to go and code it so that you can put sprays on non brush based entities then there isn't a way, currently.
 
you could try applying the decal to a nodraw brush, make it a non-solid func_brush and parent it to the entity
 
Tried info_projecteddecal? As I recall it projects decals onto models.
 
ive looked at that, i havent ran a map with it though. it appears that it would stick to any model with in a certain radius of it or somthing, kinda wierd. But I will give it a shot.
