Demo editing question

I am looking for software/tools that would enable me to add
voice-over comments to a demo that I recorded earlier. Preferably
shareware or opensource, because I don't have much of a budget.
Or basically video-editing software that allows me to freeze the
demo or slow-mo, add subtitles, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

Your best option is to convert the demo to a video and edit it with video editing software. Assuming you intend to create video anyway, its probably the way to go.

The demo feature isn't really designed for what your trying to do with it.
