I want a program that i can watch my demos in so i dnot have to load the game every time to play them, but i think that the game doen't record "movies" it records like quordinates for the movements so there is alot less space being taken up instead of pixels. But it would be alot easer, casue i dont like having to load and then typing in the name..

drag and drop = my friend

Sorry, not possible. You have to load Half-Life 2.

Your right in that demos don't record video, they record your keystrokes, mousemovment, and what the game itself is doing. It's like watching an AI play.

Thusly, you need the game running in order to do it.

Yeah, but I'd have thought you can rig together a file association so that clicking on demos invokes hl2.exe +playdemo <blah.dem> or whatever?

mmm, yeah koopa that would come in handy sence i was right about in not making acually "movies" i wonder if there is a way...

:sniper: you might want to try out some kind of video recorder (records everything that you see on your screen) that supports high resolutions. I used to record some original HL demos i made but i cannot remember the program i used. If you find one let me know Ive been searching for it thru google but havent found it yet.

you can convert them to avi, its quite tedious but it can be done
search the forums if you want to find out more :) guy called Jacen posted how to do it i think

Use Fraps.

Alternatively, HL2 can drop frame by frame captures of a demo out. You can take those image sequences into premiere or other programs and make a video out of it.
