Direct X june update

to try and get half-life one working i've tried to install the direct X june update- with no luck, because i don't know where to install it to. help!

Go to Microsoft's site herehttp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en That download should update your Direct X automatically. If your not sure if it has updated it, then click on Start>Run then type "dxdiag" it should say what version you have.

thanks, but it determined that i don't need it, because my ststem is up to date. Closed, and Half-life episode one still wont work

What issue are you having with Episode 1? Tell me the problems that you are getting and i'll see if i can help you. Odds are your Direct X is fine and not causing the problem.

For the most part, DX monthly updates just adds to the developer tools. If any real updates are required, Windows Update or a game should prompt you.
