Do barnacles eat headcrabs? Do squadmembers pick up weapons?

Am I mistaken, or did I see a barnacle eat a headcrab?

And I'm not sure but I think I saw one of my squad members pick up a weapon from a dead combine. It looked like he switched from a smg to a pulse-rifle, and he said "finally". Do they really do that?

and about the second: I have seen squadmembers picking up guns when they dont have any, but i have never seen them exchange guns.

Second question; Yes they do. All squad members start with the smg (apart from those who start with rocket launchers, but those are only around in certain areas) and pick up pulse rifles along the way.

Barnacles will eat headcrabs, but refuse to eat zombies. If one grabs a zombie it will rip the headcrab off and dump the zombie.

And rebels will trade weapons. I think the order of preference is something like AR2 > Shotgun > SMG.

If you point your crosshair at a weapon on the that is higher in value than one a member of your squad currently possesses and hit the squad command key, they will defintitely pick up the weapon instead of making it simply a choice.

In the beta you could deselect squad members and tell them to wait indefinitely too!

Actually I remember picking up a shotgun with the grav gun(when I had full ammo) holding it in front of an SMG wielding rebel, and he grabbed it.
