Do I have to activate the sentry guns somehow? They wont work.

I'm at the level where you set up 3 turrets agains an endless onslaught on guys. The turrets dont work for me, didnt work in the earlier level either, the only thing they shoot at is me.

I think the harpoon might be causing this. I never had this problem untill I brought the harpoon from "Sand Traps" with me. I also get the "two Alyxes bug"
