DO They Put Something In It To Make You Forget?

I've heard multiple times that the Combine puts something in the water to make people forget, but I've never seen any suggestion of this in-game except for the word of a citizen sitting at a table covered in beer bottles. When I played through, my first thought was that he was forgetting things, maybe, but it was because he was drinking something other than water. Eli, Alyx, Kleiner, and whatnot don't seem to have forgotten much.

Oh, and as long as I'm posting? I've never seen any in-game use of the term "razor train." Where does that come from? Is it an official Valve thing or just a term someone came up with that stuck? (I still use plenty of my own terms, but I doubt I can shoehorn them into this post.)

I always figured the guy was a bit crazy. Perhaps they do put something in the water, but something that makes you more passive and obedient would seem more useful than forgetness water.

Also, you would notice your friends forgetting, right? Talk to them one day, next day the don't recal ever meeting you.
