My steam monitor just started going and it now says Dod source has completed download. Do you think maybe this and HL source could be activated for silver/gold purchasers before HL2?

A lot of people have been reporting DOD:S loading something. I had it earlier as well, but no news about what it was. hmmmmm

Mine did the same thing. It created a 375MB cache file.
... but I would be very surprised if DoD came out before HL2 because they said not too long ago that they weren't ready to show screenshots because of the state it was in. I doubt they would go from no information to a release in a couple of months... unless they are going to go the HL:S path and release it as almost a straight port (then update it from there).

i got this too. was very suprised to see it.
it may mean Valve are trying to sweeten us with this because hl2 is going to be a while.
