Doug Lombardi Interview

Although I still love valve because of the finished product we got, I have a hard time beleiving anything this guy says anymore.

OK interview. I can't wait to play with Alyx and Dog in HL2:Aftermath. Should be interesting ;)

He meant this question:

What does Valve have in store for us with the release of the HL2 Expansion Pack "Aftermath"? Will we see the incorporation of High Dynamic Range Lighting (HDRL - scheduled to be featured on the HL2 DM Map "The Lost Coast") in this new single-player extension? Word is that Alyx and Dog will be taking a more prominent role in the expansion, and that there will be a whole bevy of new creatures to battle against, but who will we be playing as? Will it be Gordon, or will someone else be at the helm?

I bet they are not even thinking about Half life 3 yet, too much other stuff.

Mabye Marc Laidlaw is doing story stuff, but I don't think anything serious is going on with it.

I'm 100% sure that there are more people busy on HL3 than only Marc Laidlaw. Ideas, concept art, engine updates, models, etc.

I'm sorry, I was replying to babyheadcrab, but someone replied in the middle so it may have been a bit farfetched.

At least he confirmed that we don't need a 3.2ghz processor for HDR...but the LATEST GPU? come on!??(not sure if this is new news)
I wonder if we be able to choose particular elemnets of HDR? that would make it easier on our GPU's, and would allow us to choose only the HDR elemnets we want.
