I'm not too sure about other states (or the UK for that matter), but I know in Hawaii, licenses are classed numerically, IE Class 1, 2, 3, etc etc. Class one is a moped license, class two is a motorcycle license, class three is a standard car license, and everything above is a commercial vehicle license of some sort.

Now, if I have a Class 3 license, does that give me the privileges of both a class 1 and 2 license?

I doubt it's the same here as in other states (and i'm positive it's different for the UK), but i'm just wondering, how is it in YOUR state?

Curious, because I realize that having a four wheeled vehicle license wouldn't automatically make you capable of operating a two wheeled vehicle, but it wouldn't make sense to make somebody with a class two retest for a class one.

This is how it is where I live

I wouldnt think that having a class 3 entitles you to a class 2. A class one possibly (IIRC thats the system over here, with a car licence you can ride a 50cc or smaller moped with no L plates, or up to 125cc with. IIRC)

In Florida you have to have a motorcycle license to drive one. :/

Same thing here in Texas. I know for sure that you have to take a motorcylcist course to qualify to drive them.

Im 99% sure you will need a motorcycle license to drive one. Thats how it is here in NM.

In Canada you need to get a Motorcycle license, then there is a G1 and G2 for a car, then some weird one for a truck (like transport trucks)...

In Alabama it's Boating, Motorcycle, Car, and Class A,B etc... for trucks.

It's the same in Canada, you need a class x license for a class x vehicle.
