Driver's License Transferage

I have an Hi driver's license, which I would like to turn into a Ca driver's license to aid in providing proof of residency when I transfer to another college. How do I do this?

Actually, I don't even care if I have a Ca license or not, can I just get a Ca ID and not have to jump through all the licensing hoops?

Why don't you ask the license agency of Ca? And yes, most places you can get a simple ID.

My friend just moved there from Texas a few months ago and got his CA license. It's not difficult.

I think you have to be there a year until you can get residency though, at least for school purposes (e.g. paying in-state-resident tuition).
