Over the past few months, my dsl connection is slowing down. From 160 kb/s to 90 kb/s. Now it has gone down to 60 kb/s at the time i'm posting this. I suspect it has something to do with faulty wiring or the dsl provider. I need to know what i can do to fix this problem. I've replaced the dsl filters with new ones, but the problems persist.

It's most likey your ADSL provider or the fact more people have taken up ADSL in your area. Try it at a non-peak time period like 12-6AM if you can. If it's still slow then I don't think there's much you can do other than to complain to your ISP.

So call your ISP. You pay them. They have an obligation to you.

If you're just guessing at speeds and problems and would like to benchmark your connection, try: www.dslreports.com/tools.

I've called my dsl company and it seems wiring malfunctions may be the cause of the slow speeds. The other phone jack had much better connectivity. Now, i just have to buy a 50 ft ethernet cable =[.

adsl does not suffer from more people on it, cable does though

Maybe you have alot of spyware or bandwidth using programs running lately.
