Dungeons and Dragons Online goes Gold

Should ship Feb 28th to retailers. Has anyone played/followed the beta? I'm interested in an rpg to keep me going till Oblivion is released and I'm wondering if this is any good

funny thing is that the NDA was lifted weeks ago and I still havent read one review

While I have not played it myself everyone I have talked to that have played it basically says the same thing: Its not D&D, its not eberron, its just a decent MMORPG.

I briefly played D&D when I was 14 ...seemed geeky at the time so I never got into it ...so the whole D&D world would be lost on me. I just want a decent fantasy rpg that dioesnt have happy little elves or stupid hobbits

Well I am sure it has elves and halflings, would dinosaur riding halflings be stupid?

Read many reviews and most say:

Its like GW but you have to pay.
All missions are instanced and the 'world' is made up of a city and nothing more.
Content should should take up about 2 months of casual playing.
Why did they bother?
