Dystopia is Free Play favorite

At this years Free Play, hosted by modDB, it seems that the HL2 MOD Dystopia has taken it by storm:

Today is LAN day. Basically what this means is people play mods and games on PC's. I was actually contacted by the organisers a few weeks ago for a list of mods that should be played on the LAN so I gave them a good list, but all I can say is .. once people got stuck into Dystopia, there was no turning back. What was supposed to be an hour 'go' with Dys turned into a 6 hour frag fest with just Dystopia playing.

Dammit, I can't make up my mind on which mod is the "next big thing".

Just remember the "sleeper hits" that pop out of nowhere and knock people off of their feet. Admitted, the "next big thing" is likely to combine pretty media releases and actual product, but mods that have no media but lots of work behind them (practically hidden from the world until their release) are also likely to do well. It's the "release poor renders and don't do any real work" mods that are doomed to fail...

I'd guess within the next coupple months.
From what I've heard from the Devs, they plan on first releasing a sort of "Demo" version of the MOD first, which will feature all the main elements of Dystopia. Then after a little while and some more developing, they'll release the full Dystopia MOD.

Soon. I'm bideing my time. It actually plays pretty well, at the moment. I've just got to beautify it/make more than one map/fix the research system and build queue.

Same. Dystopia just looks so cool. Wonder how it will play out though. Seems like an abundance of features, could be overwhelming.
