E3 Supreme Commander video

I should have posted it earlier

Beyond Awesome IMO, Chris Taylor takes the cake again.

it's an 11 min vid btw for anyone wondering

Wow Im so pumped for this game finally an RTS that can truely bring about that massive scale of war. This and crysis are my top 2 most wanted without question. It just sucks we wont get it till early 07. :(

Woot! Downloading while i sleep. Cant wait to see this!

ok, i just watched it and holy shit i pissed my fualkcmzaoplisj{QAP32iu0-qejA{Sd AP{ANTS!!!!11

GIVE lrANl;sdK ME NOW!

Imo the best thing about this game is definatly the developers. They are very ethusiastic about what they are making and you can tell they are excited when showing it off. Not only that but they don't seem to care about things making sense or been realistic. They just want to make a crazy fun game. This is what games developers should be like.

I'm very hyped about this game because I absolutely love TA and still play it from time to time..:)
Can't wait for this..

Wooooooah, that was amazing! I wasnt so hyped before seeing this video, I mean wow thats amazing :rolling:

Looking awesome as always! Graphics are looking much better too.
Looks like this will be very fun to play and the maps will be huge. If that map was only 1/16th the size of their biggest map... we got some big battles ahead of us :D

Can anyone put a link where I can get the video without the torrent?

Thanks man!

Saw the video and all I can say is holy ****ing shit!!! I WANT THIS GAME !!!

i'll be upgrading my PC for this game.... wonder what the specs will be?

no official ones yet

one of the dev's said it would work best on an sli rig with an intel chip (don't ask me why intel :p)

At first I thought "maybe they are giving players too much control" but I took some time to think about it and it is definately a good thing, I just like to have a stealth approach to attacking, hopefully shroud will be in the game, cause from this demo it didnt look like it.

the whole command and control thing is pure class... moving waypoints on the fly... why hasn't anyone else thought of that???!?!?

i think this and spore are the only games that have ever 'truly impressed me.'

i doubt the specs will be high, while the graphics look excellent it'll probably run fine on 'average' hardware, like ta did, that had marvelous graphics for the time and ran perfectly.

anyone know any 'good' supcom fan sites ? gpg's forums aren't the best. :x

They are living in the past. Still I'm a member on their site, I've been on worse.

I'm already drooling over the video.... can't wait for a demo! *begging chris to release a demo SOON!!*
also, small hope that i'm guessing would be easy to impliment but... MP3 support for your own music in the background?

I think "We don't need no water, let the motherf*cker burn..." is a good example for an MP3 song for this game

why is it that 97% of fan sites are horribly designed/coded/managed ? it makes me sad inside, it also makes me want to make my own fansite for the games i like, but i don't necessarily have the time.

I'm at supcomu.com (supreme commander universe) and they're good over there. They even keep the news current. yay!

Holy shit, this game is going to kick some serious ass.

I'd help I know PHP, some Javascript, Mysql Databases, but I've always been color blind and never been able to make colors and things match up to well so I could never really make a nice "design". On the coding side though I take pride. Checking Data(Security), Speed(In code and getting it done), and Flexibility in my code have all been something I do. Going so far to writing my own IDE's to fit exactly what im doing.

fog of war was turned off for the demo. TA games in general have very good fog of war systems, and I especially like their use of radar. Supcom's fog of war system will be entirely unique.

Basically the standard fog of war is handled by line of sight, like in most RTS games, and then you'll have two types of radar: active and passive

active radar will work by pinging everything within a certain radius (usually the entire or most of the map) and you will be able to see every unit on the map for a few seconds. after that all of their positions will be updated on the minimap until you make another ping

passive radar listens for the radar pings that your enimies make. if you hear a ping it will be shown on the minimap, and you will know prescisley where your enemies base is, allowing you to nuke the hell out of whatever was pinging.

thus you have a balance of people who like to use active and passive radar, because if you're pinged, you get nuked, but if your enemy pings, you can nuke him.

also there is a fantastic jamming system in the game. Aeon units simply cloak themselves and are undetectable on radar. UEF jammers spam everyone's radar screen with false pings and units, making both active and passive radar worthless....and I'm not sure what the cyban jammers do.

This game is definately on the top of my list now. It's going to be so bloody amazing!

I love those spiders :D

Take away three legs, add an extra beam cannon, and we have our selfs a working Tripod :O

I hope one of the unit is some kind of super tall 3 legged tripod. That would be awesome.

Yeah, and maybe they'll put Gordon Freeman in Starcraft 2 as a Hero

nice, good to see more people who take pride in code. :)

i'm in the process of reinstalling windows, so i won't have photoshop on for a few days but i'll design something when i can.

i designed a site for cncnation which should be up soon, their coder has disappeared half way.. heck, i even have a the witcher fan site i started like 6 months ago and is semi-done (i think i'm going to finish it, i haven't seen a decent [english] thewitcher fan site yet but i haven't checked in a while) and i have some designs for other games floating around [not coded nor finished].
