Dunno about you guys, but I love downloading new skins and models! People are so talented; some of these replacement models are so high-quality and awesome-lookin!.........but, there's one prob I've encountered though: if you install a skin/model and don't like it, it's always really hard to uninstall every part of it since the files are scattered! Sometimes, I miss a file when removing a skin (like an AK47), then I reinstall a new ak47 skin only to see it not show up properly cause of a previous AK47 skin that I didn't fully remove. I found out a way how to install and remove skins and maps - it's saved me soooo much time and frustration!
Here's a tutorial on how to do it:
First you'll need this program: ClickTeam's Install Creator.
- Download any skin/model/map that you want to use.
- Create a folder on your desktop to extract your skin/model/map to.
- Extract the files from the zip/rar to the folder you created on your desktop. It should look somethin like this:

NOTE: Make sure you only have 1 skin/model/map extracted to the folder - mixing them will interfere with creating the installer. Also, delete any readme's, jpg's, and other non-needed files to reduce the amount of junk files in your Cstrike folder.
Creating the installer:
- Install and run the program I linked to. If it's your first time running it, it should have some "wizard" thing that you can skip.
- Make sure you're on the "files" tab, then look for a red "X" somewhere on the right side - click the little yellow icon on the left side of it and you'll see a blank bar appear with a few dots on the right side of it
- Click the dots to browse to the folder you created on your desktop. Select the folder and click "ok". If you had a skin/mod/map extracted to that folder and did everything right, it should look somethin like this:

- Click on the "Wizard Texts" tab and look for the words "MyProduct" - replace "MyProduct" with the name or description of the skin/model/map you'll be installing.
- Click on the "Options" tab and for the installation directory, place the location of your Cstrike folder. It's important that you don't mess up here, or your stuff won't install properly!.........EX:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\morbid_maniac\counter-strike source\cstrike
- Click on the "Uninstaller" tab and put in the name or description of whatever you're installing so that if you wish to uninstall it, you'll know what you're uninstalling.
- Click the "Build" tab and enter the name of whatever you're installing. This process will create the EXE that will install the mod, so save this somewhere and keep it.......the build process should take around 10-20 seconds.
- When it's done, run the EXE file you just created and poof! Your mod will begin installing, it'll then create an uninstaller in your Cstrike folder that will allow you to completely remove the mod instantly!.....(Also, make sure you delete everything from the folder you created on your desktop in case you wish to install another mod using this process)
Everything above should take only 1-2 mins to do, but of course text makes everything look way longer
Removing entries from the "Add/Remove programs" list:
Yes, whenever you use this process to install a Cstrike mod, it will create an entry in the "Add/Remove programs" list. To remove them from there, simply download Regcleaner:
http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-download/archives/reg-cleaner4.3.htm
Install and run it - click on the "Uninstall Menu" tab and find any entrys of your Cstrike mods. Highight it, and near the bottom, click the "Remove Selected" button. This will not remove the mod; it only removes it from the "Add/Remove programs" list just to reduce clutter.
I hope this process of installing/uninstalling Cstrike mods helped you all:E
