Environmental audio ? or EAX?

i just bought a new set of creative T7900s for HL2 and other games. Does HL2 support 7 channels of sound or surreound sound like Doom 3? cos it really does add an extra layer of tension to the atmosphere.

i would hope that it does... i mean it should it will definetely support 5.1.....
and being a game being released in these times... it should support 7.1 If it didn't that'd be really really dumb....

CSS supports both 5.1 and 7.1.
