EP 1 length?

At what point in the original HL2 game would you say the length of EP 1 is? In other words, is it as long as the original at the point you reach black mesa east? To where you first get the gun on the boat? Etc etc. At what point in the original game would you put the total length of EP 1 at?

I honestly have no idea so I'll just throw out a random length. Probably from Black Mesa East to the beginning of Entanglement.

I'd say the length would equate to the end of Ravenholm. Three mains "zones"

Episode 1:
-Citadel
-Underground Tunnels
-City 17

Half Life 2:
-City 17
-Route Kanal
-Ravenholm

Route kanal is much longer than lowlife, and you didn't count with water hazard! To the end of water hazard, IMO.

so i guess about 1/4-1/5 the length. If thats the case i may pass. At $20 for the retail box (don't have dsl) thats 1/2 the cost of HL2 and you you only get a quarter as much game or less. I really wanted it but sounds like it'll go by in no time. A heck of a way to generate double or more profit for valve, but i'm gonna pass. I'd much prefer a full length sequal at the same cost as HL2. Oh well.

I wasn't naming chapters, I was naming environs.

But I'd say I got to the end of Ravenholm in four hours. Just like I got to the end of Episode 1 in four hours.

Yeah, I did it in about 4 hours, too. Second time I did it in an hour and a half.

Agreed, and I foresee that it will only be dethroned by EP2, which is due out this December. Either way, Valve retains the crown
