Ep 2 flashlight bug?

Hey, I've run into a problem with Ep2. I run a Core2 Duo 6750, 2gb OCZ DDR2 PC6400, and a GeForce 8800 GTX. On most levels in Ep 2 I run into this weird graphics bug where the top third of the screen gets all pixelated and doesn't render anything except the skybox (picture attached.)

Anyone run into this problem and/or know how to solve it?

The pixels will change position with movement, but they're always limitted to the top third of the screen.

Edit: Forgot to add; it only happens when the flashlight is on.

bit of an update, it only seems to happen when I have shadows turned on high. I re-verified the game cache, that didn't work, reinstalled the game, that didn't work, and reinstalled windows to a different version (for other reasons), and thus updated all my drivers... still nothing's changed. Anyone have any ideas?

All of my hardware is currently running its factory default settings, so, in theory, that shouldn't be a problem. I'd think, anyway.

Try putting everything to high,or just dont use the flashlight,pretend that its broken or semething

that's the problem. setting it on high is what makes it glitch.

Leave him alone, Xendance, maybe he DOESN'T WANT TO! Besides, this isn't a glitch, it improves the game, gives it that "retro" look.

Downgrade the drivers until it works. Remember, with nvidia latest doesn't mean best.

Actually, Para is right. The very latest drivers usually have unknown bugs in them, from one thing that was fixed to cause something else to go wrong.

So can't you set it to low??

Because God forbid that I want my game to function properly on settings that my hardware should certainly be able to handle?
