hi guys.

well episode2 works very good normally.
but after playing for few mins it starts to stutter badly.i have observed it generally occurs when there are too much of sound like heavy gunfire and other loud noises.the sound also stutters(sometimes)

i have googled but couldnt get a appropriate answer.
please help.

Sure you have enough RAM? I'd recommend at least 1gb, 2 or 4 even better. Or maybe you have an old hard drive, since when they start to get worn out the read time significantly lenghtens.

Also, you could try to lower the sound quality in the options.

I read somewhere that source is a pretty stuttering engine to run - since practically nothing is loaded to the system memory in advance. Only like 0.125 seconds of the sound files are loaded beforehand, so if you have an outdated PC lots of sounds could make the game stutter I think. Heck, it even stutters every once in a while with my brand new PC.

thanks for the reply.
system:-p4 3.2ghz ht,2gb ram,8600gt.

what i was asking for is is there any fix like hl2.

Haven't heard of any fixes or anything... Maybe you should check your computer for viruses and spyware, AVG-antivirus and spybot SD have worked for me. Also, you should make sure you don't have unnecessary processes running in the background.

What settings are you using? I believe that if you max out everything, the 8600gt you have will not be able to handle the game perfectly - it's a pretty old graphics card.
