Since no one answered, I'll explain my problem more clearly:
I'm using XSI.
I'm trying to make a prop_physics for hl2. I have the HL2 Compile toolkit, but to be able to use it, the model (or actually the scene, which is currently a .exp-file) should be exported into a .smd-file. I click the ValveSource->Export to SMD... and in the SMDExportProperty-window give a name to the model and click OK. Then, instead of making the .smd-file the XSI crashes and gives the "Failed to save sequence before system failure"-error. I'm doing everything by the hl2 world-tutorial (http://www.hl2REMOVEworld.com/wiki/index.php/XSI_Compiling_Tutorial (the "Exporting the SMD's-part)), but it just won't work!
I don't have a bone in my model, should there be one? The reason there isn't one is that I have no idea how to add one..
actualy i care about the boobs. anyway mate ive had that problem before. and it just went away after a while but i had posted on here and someone told me what to do. you have to delete a file in the xsi directory. i cant remember what it was though. you could try searching the forums i probally named the thread something like xsi problem. if you cant find it then u can wait and see if it goes away or contact softimage. also you do need a bone in a static prop but xsi adds one for you when you export so no need to worry about adding a bone.
also psychofreak, for one people didnt reply because no1 around here uses xsi so they dont know how to help. and why are you calling him a noob. hes not asking how you create a box or subdivide a surface hes asking about an error.
