What do you guys think that the ESRB rating will be for HL2 (Mature,Teen, ect...) and what was the rating for the first HL?

Half-Life was rated mature, so I think it'd be safe to assume Half-Life 2 will be as well.

Not in a patch definitely. Mod of course. But, the ESRB doesn't cover MODs, thankfully.

Well, I think that violence is really dying out as an offensive part of a movie or game. All games these days have it, and no boy above 6 is offended or emotionally scarred by blood.
Maybe Valve should change the blood to Gumballs!!! Yum!!

About the rating.... uhh, yeah.... What about the content lock? What will that lower the game rating to? How much does it limit? They get rid of bloddy gibs and blood decals? That's about as much as I could see them doing.

Its time that violence was rated lower. I mean your more likely to see more violence on the news rather than films or certain games. But if I had to go with an educated guess, the UK will have a 16+ printed on the side of the box.

Content Lock= No gibbing, No Zombie decapitaion, No headshots (Damn It) They might get rid of bodies after a few seconds (I would have to find out by playing HL1 again)

HL2 has lots of blood, and body parts that can be blown off (zombies getting lower half blown off) That most definately constitutes an "M" rating.

lol, crazy germans, u know that they took off all the blood and ragdoll in far cry for the german version of the game, and its still rated "m" or something!

There wasn't any blood and you had no chance to carve up any scientists.
Someone made a patch to fix it.
Anyway I had luck and bought the US Version.
