What are your thoughts on Half Life 2's sales in its first week or so of sales. Disappointingly although this game triumphs over GTA SA and Halo 2 I have a feeling its not become as renown or as popular as thoses two games. But I personally think (and hope) it will become a very good seller in a very quick time.

GTA:SA is the highest rated game ever created, apprently and according to a ton of on-line reviewers. Personally, I didn't see it satisfying. I thought it sucked.

Sales wise for HL 2, I think it should do as it is expected by analysts.

It will start bringin in lots more sales when it's been out for about 3 years and is only worth a £10. So the first few months may not be a true test of it's greatness.

HalfLife 1 made itself based on CONTINUAL sales, not some spastic orgasmic rush of midnight kiddie based sales in the mall -- Halo2 premiere anyone? I think that given time, HL2 may outsell HL1, and will definitely OWN both Halo2 and GTA:SA, but the key here is GIVEN TIME! Because it is limited to PC (for now at least), and targeted at older gamers (I believe it has a 17+ rating), it does not fall into the Sim's demographic of everyone and thier grandma buying it, but we all know that while other games may outsell it (at least right away), there will be no game that will give more enjoyment until HL3 comes out (which will be in 2009 after 2 delays and a leak :cheese: ).
