Bethesda has announced the first downloadable content pack for Fallout: New Vegas, called Dead Money. The DLC will be exclusive to Xbox 360 from the 21st of December.

In it, you’re the victim of a “raw deal” and must work with three other captured wastelanders to recover the treasure of the Sierra Madre Casino.

Bethesda promises new terrain, new enemies and new choices.

Dead Money will cost 800 Microsoft Points.

Sad news I must say, hopefully it comes to PC eventually.

There is already a thread for New Vegas. It's probably a timed exclusive.

Xbox 360 is a dedicated PC. I give it a week of being exclusive, then a rip will be available for the Faithful.

I actually had a chance to hack Fallout 3 for Xbox 360 (while trying to fix the broken DLCs on PC). Some files were different, but they were mostly same.

It's a timed exclusive, PS3 and PC get it after Christmas.

By then it'll already be available as a mod on the PC. I don't understand it when companies seem to try and actively stop people from giving them money. Do they think this will make PC gamers go out and buy the 360 version to get the DLC? Morons.

It's not the developers deciding to do this, per se. It's more Microsoft buying them out for x millions of dollars before the game is released to ensure a timed exclusive on DLC, and the developer being less than 100% confident in massive sales of their game.

It makes sense, but it's such a shitty practice for the consumer. These days I don't even want to get a 360 now that I've moved out and can't play the one back at home.

I know Microsoft is paying for the exclusive but even from Microsoft's perspective it's retarded. Weren't they "redoubling" their efforts for PC games? Have they forgotten that they make Windows as well as Xboxes? Do they want to PC gaming market to fall to pieces? It almost seems like it. They could have just said to stop delay it on the PS3, why the PC too? People are never going to stop playing games on computers but Microsoft seems to think they are. I don't think the PC market will collapse, but I could see ways it could happen. But all that will do is make people move over to Linux gaming with dedicated gaming OSs. All it needs is Steam and support from at least other big company.

I dunno. I get the feeling Microsoft is more and more the Apple of the gaming world, caring far more about PR and tech gimmicks than actually giving the consumer something better and new. The average consumer doesn't give a shit about PC gaming, so neither does MS.
