While rewatching the gamespy hl2 video, I remembered many people on this forum arguing about things like the combine soldier spawning(at the bottom of the stairs in trap town), and other problems that still seem to be left over from the old engine.
Perhaps Valve gave us media and info early one knowing we'd nitpick it and find errors and flaws that perhaps they overlooked. Then by reading the forums, they could fix these problems.
