Fast travel

Just curious: how do you guys use fast travel?

I only do it to get somewhere quick, like when I am in dire need of repairs or sumthing like that. I also use fast travel when I am in a city, for going from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. For the rest it's real time travel for me. I love discovering new places.

I use it when I feel like it, sometimes I really can't be botherd then other times I could walk all the way. If it is night, I fast travel, night time bores me.

I use it more than I did when I started. Here's the system I kinda go by now.

I will use fast travel when:

-I've been to the location a bunch already and the trip is just tedius (Such as going from Chorral to Leyawiin)
-I'm bordering on being encumbered and I'm in the middle of nowhere
-I'm out of supplies (such as hammers to repair my armor/weps) and my stuff is breaking.
-I decide I'm going to close another portal and I can't remember which are closed and which are still open. I'll be damned if I'm going to run all over the world just to find out. I wish the map would update the portal icons to say they were closed.

I will NOT use fast travel when:

-I'm on a quest with an npc of some kind
-I'm going to a place by a route I have not taken at least a couple times.

I wouldn't have found so many portals and dungeons if I fast travelled everywhere.

Just curious: how do you guys use fast travel?

when i steal everything out of the Mages guild building in one city and i need to get to Bruma without finding anything else that i want and having to dump something, i use it. everything else is real time
