sorry about the spelling but i was wondering, what ever happened to father gregoria? did he die?

Yes he dies. Seriously, do you think he survived against ALL those zombies? Ive even heard people say if you stick around long enough you actually see him get killed, but I havent tried it

Theres a sound file of him dying. It's something like AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA AAAAAAaaaaiiiiiaaaaa *silence*.

I wouldn't be so sudden with that... I don't remember seeing THAT many zombies... And if he's survived in Ravenholm for as long as he has already, I don't think he'd have trouble.

Plus I'm sure Valve wants to bring him back in future games... He's an interesting fellow alright.

There's no official thing yet. It actually depends on what you do as the player... I've played through Ravenholm several times and sometimes he dies, sometimes he doesn't.

Even if he did die, he'd come back as a zombie.. and kick the shit out of the other zombies.

He retreats into a crypt and it get blocked off by fire. I don't think he dies.

Yeah, he's letting them catch on fire, then shooting them. I'll bet he held them all off and went back to his church.

By the way, is he always pulling shells out of his pocket? How big of a fricking pocket does he have? :O

There are 2 posibilties if you stick around
1: He enters the tomb laughs and doesn't exit
2: He dies from zombies and fire

I think he's dead either way ;(

I think he's dead, and I'd prefer it that way. He dies surrounded by hordes of zombies, cornered in a crypt. Theres just something about the setting and the music that tells me he's dead.

But like the rest of the characters, Valve leaves their fates uncertain.

I doubt he'll be in future episodes, he's just really unimportant.

People said the same thing about Barney.

Grigori (to me) represents an important aspect of the Half Life story;
he's just an ordinary guy, all alone without even an HEV suit, but
he manages to hold his own against the worst the combine could
throw at his home. (Okay, he does go a little insane in the process,
but he seems happy with that).

With Ravenholm as the backdrop, Father Grigori represents
the point where Freeman stops running and gunning, and actually
starts fighting back against the combine, and taking up the role
as the symbol of the resistance that everyone else was shaping
him into.

And after all the other traps, tricks and cubbyholes in Ravenholm,
it would seem kind of silly for Grigori to not have a backdoor out
of that crypt.

quoted............for truth

I don't think he's dead, but that doesn't rule out the possibility that he is. However imho i feel as though it would be pretty cool in a future episode where your in quite a situation and he comes to save the day :) no matter how cheap it sounds lol

When i played it he cought fire, i stod around long after... But he never died, when i left i heard him laugh and i presumed he died. But people have survived worse. (in games/movies)

lol the next version of the TV show survivor.. Survivor : Ravenholm

i didn't. mainly because i shot all the zombies and he was fine.

and timekiller, you know you can make it so the king of noobs thing is the link to that image.

how can you feel anything for a character in a game ? Father Grigori was one of the nicest characters, though.

Maybe some people are extremely emotional and sensitive and get deeply involved in their games ?

Hmm..what a strange idea! but I suppose it's possible...

Well put. I never really thought about that.

Except the music and laughing and stuff kinda made it seem as if he was dead.
Sad. ;(

well that's what VALVe wants you to think.. bad VALVe...

Yeah, didn't want to swear properly as i'd probably get in trouble again :P

yea i would be cool if maybe he came back as a zombie and tried to kill u in HL3

any1 got a screen shot of him dyin or goin into the crypt? i just wanna see it

Using no-clip about five times I killed all the zombies and three out of five times he died...apparently for no reason. I think that his part of the story does end there.

That's me!!! You should've heard me when Dr.Breen said "You didn't know your contract was open to the highest bidder" blip...I was ranting about it for like 5 minutes before I remembered it was a game ;(

I know a Priest with the same name, when I heard the characters name in the game I was expecting him to be passive, not some crazy ass Russian with an attitude! He was my favorite character! :D

When he's holding the gate open for you he can die if he gets hit enough.

But if you go through said gate he simply runs off into a tomb laughing manically.
