I was fooling around and came up with this, hehe.
(Resized from 1600x1200 to 800x600 with slighty less quailty)

Also, anyone notice at the very start of the game when your running from the combine and you're just about to hit the roof theres that guy there holding the door for you? Well, I killed every single combine, but the door keeps banging and you can hear like combine behind? How is that if they're dead?

Because the event is scripted. When you won't usually see something (without interrupting a script, i.e., killing a person in the script with cheats), the developers take away things that would affect performance, but wouldn't affect the game. So, that is why after you hit a 'Loading' part, turn on noclip and go back to where you just were. No one will be there.

Just smart game making, that's all.
 
Yeah the door still bangs but you can get the door to open again for a moment then it will go back to banging.

Yeah, but I didn't even go to the loading part, I just stood there looking at the door for awhile, then I went passed the loading part.
