just to say it right away: i dind't find anything related to my question, so i thought to open a thread and i also hope you won't kill me, cause it's just my second post (though i followed the forums for a longer time).
While i think that the Cinematic Mod is great regarding the high quality textures, the complete overhaul of alyx, eli and mossman are not great. that's not the half life 2 series anymore. Therefore i kept the original music. I also wanted to replace the Alyx of the latest version (6.4) with one of the older version, where all of the mentioned characters look original, just high poly. (the version is 2.32)
The Problem: The names of the files are different, so that overwriting them does not work. Does anbody know how the filenames of the old version have to be renamed to replace the latest ones?
Filenames of version 2.32:
alyx_faceandhair.vmt
hairbits.vtf
alyx_faceandhair.vtf
alyx_sheet.vmt
alyx_sheet.vtf
alyx_sheet_normal.vtf
pupil_l.vtf
pupil_r.vtf
Filenames of the latest version:
Aly1.dx80.vtx
Aly1.dx90.vtx
aly1.mdl
aly1.phy
Aly1.sw.vtx
aly1.vvd
If it is impossible to replace them, cause they are different file types, would it be possible to replace the files of the 2.32 version with the models from valve in the original folders?
