Well it was 19.99 unless u had one of those member cards, if u had a member card it was a tenner. Same went with Far Cry and a few others

:frown: the main reason i went out was to get a few extra pens and stuff for my alevel exams and stuff but i came back with a game :|
 
hmmm GAME is a UK retailer? the membership card seems quite good, that's substantial savings

really, damn i'll get it now, i remember they did the same with vampire: the masquerade bloodlines, woot.
 
Yeh but its not on all games only on a few, like the ones that aren;t selling u gt a member discound. Once i picked up vampire the masquerade for 2.99

yeah i have a card, it hardly ever comes in use tbh, i spent hundreds in there yet got like a tenner voucher, meh, this seems worth it though. :D

i saw the member discounts the other day.

:eek: wow that's cheap ...I just saw it at EBgames the other day for $49.99 (canadian) ...they're such a rip off
 
Right ive just installed the patch. Ill see how the game runs and stuff on my system.

EDIT: Yeh i dnt think vampire the masquerade sold well at all over here

you are making a comparison between 2 diffrent cases. d/l games won't make you go to prison (most countries).... steel a car -->prison :eek:
 
Great mine keeps crashing at the main menu at random places. :| cant even start a new game. Wt a waste of a tenner

True, but they're both produced by people and cost cash :p
So the same basic principle.:p
Also, imo, if someone has worked hard on a game for years, they deserve the cash, although I guess most of the cash goes to the publisher, and very little to the actual creators, but still.
But then again, I really only buy games because it's nicer to have originals in a collection+They can be worth alot of cash one day ;)

Anyway , the game in this kind of status should have never seen the light of day . No matter how mant patches they will issue , the game and the company are tainted.
 
Ah it works now. The game doesn;t seem to be that bad i guess its alot of fun. Runs a bit sloppy though even though my system specs greatly exceed the minimum specs
 
actually the game is getting a lot of word of mouth ...despite the bugs ..a few weeks ago Dungeon Lords was released ...it was really buggy, people freaked out ..and the developer shut the forums down ...Deep Shawdows at least have their forums full of questions and they've addressed some of them ... think it all boils down to development money ...most companies cant afford 6 month beta cycles

Are there any motor cycles in this game taht you can drive in first person? that alone would make me buy this game... (someone post a screen of it if you can)
OH and someone please post a screen of some kind of cool sports car in first-person view if you can too

well i guess you were lucky bman, went into game today and it wasnt part of any deal or was its price slashed, it was 50euros and 4th in their chart :O , decided to give it a miss for now. :(

it wasnt in the other shops either, not in hmv, virgin, pcworld, didnt try gamestop.
 
Woah 4th in the chart?! I bet the Game down my end suddenly cranked up the price after a few people bought it.

To be honest its a greta game. i do get alot of slowdown at somepoints though (A64 3200, 1Gb ram, Geforce 6800 Ultra) but apart from that its a great game. Oh and the action itself is kinda rubbish bt the gameplay and stuff couldnt be better

you didnt install that patch did you? its us only, does the game chug? on what settings are you playing?

Well yeh i installed the patch but where does it say is US only? Does it matter :(

Yeh is amazing the game concept itself. U just start off getting off a bus with the intention of looking for your missing daughter. So u think to urself...what should i do first.

So i spoke to the nearest person to me and got details about a police station near by and a local bar and stuff. I then bought a car and went off exploring :) Right now im only about 15mins or so in the story but i;ve played the game for about 4 hours because i got sidetracked doing other stuff. For example i helped out the police by doing a recon missions for them.

The really cool thing is that there is a night and day cycle and some things only happen at certain times. Like i had to take pics of the mayor meeting someone at midnight, I had ages left so i slept for a few hours (you can check the time on ur wrist watch by pressing G) and then explored a bit until it was midnight to do my mission.

I've also joined the Army there....theres just too much to talk about. Overall its a great game but the performance issues are annoying. Kinda reminds me of Deus Ex for some reason :S
 
Well i only bought it because of the lowered price i got it for but after playing it for a while i realised how good the game is, although there are a few rough edges i'm sure a few patchs can sort them out.

I don't care if it's a flawed diamond, I still want this kind of experiment :)

Not to mention some "missing" features which the devs for some silly reason havn't included, like a lockpicking skill, it's really annoying not being able to hotwire/lockpick unoccupied cars.*Sigh*
 
Yeh stealing a car was one of the first things i tried.

I also think i pissed off the mafia too much. Everytime i';m out of the city and on dirt roads they all always ambush me by blowing up a tree to block the road and by the time i get out i get killed. I;m saving up for that offroad jeep with the machine gun and then well see who's boss :p
 
Nope i don;t think so, but there are speedboads, planes and helicopters.

Its kinda like a good guy's vice city crossed over with RPG elements and GTA 2 Gang system...with no loading times :cheers:
 
on the patch it was a us patch, a eu 1 is expected soon, i only asked as some peeps in europe installed it and had probs.

wish i could find it on the cheap.
 
;Oi just found out you can car jack GTA style!

I was just having a piss about with out saving so i went of a killing spree and killed all the cops at the police station then just randomly killed people. I saw a car coming down the road and shot at its wheel. The tyre burst and the car swerved around as the driver tried to control it. As rolled passed me i right clicked on it and i pulled the guy out of the car and got it! ;D

i had no idea you could do this. Normally it just says "no way amigo" at the top of the screen when u try to car jack. Maybe because my civilian rating was down that it allowed it to do this. It even let me steal the mafia speedboat.

It really is an awesome game and totally deserves a 8/10 from that reviewer, i just hope it doesn;t get forgetten after GTA: SA comes out (which i will also buy)
