Anyone here finished it? I played it for about 10 minutes and then died from some grenade throwing combine soldier. I found the controls kind of a big obstacle for me. Maybe I'll have to just play it more to get used to it...

I never got past the third "frame", I quit because it was so damn boring :(

I like the controls once you get used to them.

I finished it after a few days, it only took some people one attempt.

I finished it on normal on my first run through

Played through the first stage on hard and quit because it wasn't as fun as it was at first

i reached the strider, never killed him tough,,,, anyways, i reached the strider in one computer class (that is 75 minutes) so , it's not that long... lol

Yeah I also had trouble with the strider at first but i beat it, you gotta go up on the side and throw nades at it.

i beat it! On my first try too. What i did was i stayed all the way against the wall on the left side and i just shot the strider!

I have beaten the game on Hard, and once that was accomplished there was no reason for me to play the game anymore. It was good while it lasted though, kinda like a silly Half-Life 2 prequel.

Didn't like it... quit God-knows-how-far into it... :P

Beat it. Wish Valve had added some special prize at the end tho, like a super fast screenshot or something.

It was cute, and often pretty funny. Kudos to the guys that did it.

I only like how the guys announced it and made it look like it was going to be great they had some big community, when they showed screen shots, it really looked good and every one thaught that it was going to be fun. Alas....

But great work guys, it's refreshing and its good to see that Valve gave them good support. Plus the song from the menu is damn great.

i had fun with it. it actually was cool to use the manipulator, which only goes to show how much the real one will be....(daydreams).... hey, i hope you can hold onto a manhack and use it like a chainsaw on combine soldiers like you could in codename gordon.

wish there was a way to make the arrow keys move the cross hair. It'd give it a more arcade feeling to it.

"i hope you can hold onto a manhack and use it like a chainsaw on combine soldiers like you could in codename gordon." ;) I'm just going to wink at that...

i tried it a few times but im having problems with the controls.. climbing up and down ladders does not work for me :(

i tried assigning other keys but nothing.. it doesn't work.. so when i get to a part where i need to climb up or down a ladder i end up exiting :hmph:

it must be a bug.. or something..
i'd like to clear it tho.. wanna know what happens..

I think this is the wrong forum. But I could never finish it either, I lost interest.

You lost interest!? It takes like 30 minutes at the most to beat :|

It takes less than 30 minutes to beat, but the game was pretty bad. I mean, they tried, and I'll give them props for that, but overall, it was a very unenjoyable experience and I hope to God it's not an inclination of what Half Life 2's experience will be. I know it's not made by Valve, but it could be an omen. Pray it's not.

managed to kill the Strider the 2nd day I played it....

found it so boring, controls annoying, so haven't played it since.

I played about 5 frames, died and got bored. Has Duke Nukem: Manhatten Project not shown us that the side-scroller is dead?

Nice try tho guys! ;)

It was pretty boring but the character voices owned.

I was so boring. I got up to the 3rd part, and I quit.

I couldn't kill the god damn Alien gunship. Every time I tried to shoot it, the mouse started to lag and it was impossible to aim. So that was the end of the story -> remove Codename: Gordon.

No prayer necessary; Codename Gordon is a semi-professional third party Flash game. Of course it's not indicative of Half-Life 2's content or quality. Omen schmomen.

Maybe there's no longer a market for new side-scrolling games (which is certainly subject to debate in another venue), but I still fire up my emulators now and then for some old-school Super Mario World or Yoshi's Island. ;)

Hey, I'm not saying there was never a place for those games - it's all part of the gaming evolution - but we're at a stage now where side-scrollers just dont do it.
