First glimpse of the prowler

Do we see the Prowlers head in the E3 2004 vid

I know what it is. And I can't really say because its from the BETA. It is not a mask, it is a head.
Like someone said, its a different enemy. I don't know what it does, but I know what it looks like and I know that the thing on the table is its head. And you use its head in some way that I don't know.
I didn't [spoiler} any of this because I didn't really have anything there, but I will spoiler its name.

Leak information. Naughty.

I don't know if the name denotes its abilities or not. But it sounds scary.
 
The [censored] isn't in the beta itself, is it? I thought it's only present as .mdl file and viewable with model viewer...

Anyway, I hope they change it's model or give a reason for it's strange appearance, cuz boy does it look weird O_o

What I saw, on a web site, was the full modle of it.

I remember when the beta was first out there was a site that had every single modle in the game pictured.

It is not the Prowler. If any of you would bother to look, the prowler looks nothing like that head.... http://www.halflife2.net/image_files/enemies/art_prowler.gif I'll give you the fact that its white....but thats it. It isn't the same shape at all and the Prowler has the weird eye things comming out. This other head thing is pretty much all round. Nothing sticking out. They "eyes" are more in then out.
 
Actually, now that you showed that picture, I'm more and more convinced it is either the prowler as it is in the game (the concept is old, keep that in mind), or definately related. The head on the table is basicly the same as the prowler but with retracted eyes.

Maybe the [censored] is made by eli & co from the head of a prowler or vise versa... it IS in their lab, so it's possible...

But I'm thinking this thread gets closed soon because of all the beta speak :p
 
tust me it is not the prowler, they are both combine but not the same....
 
It definately looks like at least the first half (front half) of the prowler's mask without the eye tubes.
 
Looks like some mask. I doubt they'd leave hte head to a dead creature laying around the lab. If it were from some creature, the ideal is to create a mask to blend in with the creatures.

Yeah. I hate this kind of stuff. Because people start talking about things they have no idea about, and I can't set stuff straight. I'm just really weird like that I guess :P .

It still could be the prowler; it's only concept art... maybe the [censored] is the final result as it would be in the game (which would suck though :p).

But still, the head of the [censored] has those same eyetubes but they are RETRACTED. So they are prolly related in some way.
 
LOL Deltablast your obsessed with it bieng the prowler. but you are wrong, they are two different enemies. just wait till the game comes out and you will see why this new enemy is laughably bad

perhaps its part of the mask the combine use when they wear their powersuits. I remember that in some magazine articles a while back there's some mention of a heavy combine exosuit trooper or something and they mention how it sticks a probe through a door to find you
 
The prowler seems to be some sort of mutant really fast and evil thing.. I guess they'll be among the hardest enemies you meet.

No......... it isn't an enemy that you've ever herd of from anything other than the leak.

We need to just drop it now.......
 
It definately ain't a prowler, but i have no idea what it really is. if you've seen the E3'04 demo, the object on the table is way too spherical, that is perfectly rounded. Then it has those little nobbies sticking out, so yeah to me it seems like an advanced microscope. But then these people talking they already know it's the head of an enemy, so it will be interesting to play and find out what it is.

Cutting short the fun of speculation by narrowing the options with info from the beta = Very Bad.
 
okay since my only theory got thrown out the window its time to start thinking outside of the box


Combine can actually combine (hehe play on words) like voltron, the head on the table is the head of the robot that one of the Combine troopers turned into. The rest formed legs, arms, torso, and big freaking sword

It is the mutated defrosted head of Walt Disney's evil mutant twin brother named Hank, you must've fought hank earlier in the game and blown off his head, and somehow it wound up in the lab.

it is somehow related to the olsen twins, don't know how, but somehow.

in the future gerbils have grown to horribly large sizes and have mutated beyond recognition. This is a giant gerbil's eye

its a new species of headcrab, one with 2 eye holes, comepletely white, and with no legs, thus completely harmless and a digimon

i'm out of ideas
 
Hmmm It looks like a combine mask. Then again its kind of a ball. What if prowlers are sewer(or something) mutated combines that look less human than a regular combine! All alien no human combine?
 
it's a prowler that's had it's body shrunk so but not its head so it looks like a big head with no body. if you look closely it sortof rocks from side to side and has little flapping things on the bottom.


...Yeah, microscope it is. :dozey:
 
I wonder if the prowler will have weapons. from his concept art am guessing he'll just be using his fists. melee.
 
DOG was shown on one of the kids that visited VALVE's vids.. it looks exactly like the concept art, except with color. (duh)
