First thoughts

[Inanimate]

I was very disappointed in how short it was, it felt like it was shorter than EP1, however, the content and the new elements of graphics/physics was astonishing.

This one was much better than EP1, however, as usual, we got to see too little of:

Gman
The Combine and whatever happened to Breen / Big Boss Monster of Xen
The story itself.


During the game I constantly felt that "ok so this Im doing here must be the thing I do before I go kaboo-boom on everything and wtf-pwn some shit in the city or whatever", but it never came.
Reminds me of LOTR: Two Towers; introducing new characters, and thats basicly it.

Im a bit irritated by the fact that it takes Valve 2-3 years per episode and thats a hell of a long time until we get to see the continuance.

What do you think; will there be a EP3, or a HL3 next?

well..... considering it was only a year a bit ago that episode 1 came out so i think we should see this most likely early 2009 which is fine by me. Loved the game, length was what was to be expected i suppose considering the quality and detail.

I have to say, every time, EVERY time i play a Valve game it creates these little fuzzie feelings in me that makes me want to mod / map for this engine and tell a side story or something, but then i realise i suck and they are god and its not possible.

Btw it has been stated i believe that episode 3 is indeed in production. As for Half-Life 3? Well gabe or someone has stated that there is a considerable amount of 'Half-Life' story remaining ( sounds like a very nice novel to read anyone??? ) so heres for hoping!

It is a little short. My thinking though is that with finite time to spend on a project either quality or quantity has to be spared, and this was superb quality.

The Half life universe has a lot to it,Episode 3 is being made and (sorry if its a spoiler,i dont know how to put that revealing thing) it will be most probably in the arctic in that base with dr. J.Mossman,and there just might be a half life 3,but not for another five years or so (i guess)

I thought the length was perfect; longer than EP1, shorter than HL2 (which was far too long in the first place).

And Gabe says that they will only make one more episode in the Half Life-series.
"After that we're doing stuff I can't tell you about".
That thing made me afraid they will finish off the whole series at the end of the next episode, however, Gabe said in an interview that even with EP2 out, there is a considerable amount of story left to tell, which makes me think that after EP3, HL3 will be on the schedule.

What really sucks tho, is that the fatass advisors got away -_- I was just waiting to be in control of my char and reach for that doubletap-5 or seeing dog ripping one to shreds.. instead they flew/ran out, escaping such a cruel act :-|
