Flashlight doesn't work properly

I had the same problem in HL2, but managed to play it through without having too much troble, but in HL2 episode one it's a bit of an problem. The problem is that the flashlight doesn't work like it's supposed to. It only shows items and characters, but not walls, roofs or anything like that. Especially this problem freaks me out when I try to go through the air duct in lowlife chapter, but can't see shit. I just keep on dropping in the hole and dying.
My computer is Fujitsu siemens t4010 laptop with intel graphics card. I know that its not much of a game computer, but HL2 works with it properly enough for me. Could someone have any idea how to work it out?

The flashlight doesn't apear while I play on my laptop either, thats why I dont play on it. The only advise I can give is to play the game on a better PC.

Get rid of the intel graphics card it's not ment for gaming the only way to fix this is to get a better graphics card
