Well, I'm stuck on how to beat the big purple ghost at the bottom of the ship. All that happens is that he gets me with his beam, I lose willpower and I'm frozen to the spot, then he rapes me. I had trouble beating all the other ghosts with my silver longsword, I'm wondering if there are any spells or potions that would help me beat him?

Yeah, he's a toughie alright. I ended up hitting him with paralysis to hold him down and whacking him a few times or healing myself(whichever was needed at the time) and then more paralysis.
Repeat until one of you is dead.

I think the trick here is to get an enchanted sword and some potions that enchance will power. I had both but only needed the sword, he was on the ground on the 5th swipe.

P.S: Oh yeah, get a lot of resistance items, they make ghosts a piece of cake.

If he really is that hard I'm glad I didn't do the quest when I got it... It was the first one I EVER got besides the one to go visit Jauffre.

Answer: Fireballs

Something simple like 5 damage for x seconds and he goes down easily.

You should be fine, the hack-and-slash tactic worked for me. Perhaps using Dispel might work. Try and find an enchanted weapon with something like reflect or magical shields.

Advice that I could of done with during the Bruma incident. My retreat tactic got a lot of innocents killed

Here's a cheap but effective tactic that I used. Make them follow you up to that one room in the back of the ship; I think it's the captain's quarters. And then stay in that room when they follow you. They can't pass through the open doorway so it allows you to hit them at your pace. I know it might be cheap but it works.

I got lucky on that quest. I managed to hit him over and over with my flare and he didn't move an inch. Took a while and multiple tries, but it seems the AI glitched on me...

OK, I've beat the ghost at the captain room along with all other ghosts, and now I'm at the bottom deck and there is a door locked that needs a key and I don't seem to find that key.
Any ideas where to get that key from?
Was I supossed to get it from one of the ghosts?
I have search the entire boat and I can't find the key to open that door, I need help please, anybody?

There is (or was if you already killed it) a ghost at the lowest level of the ship (the same level on which the locked door is). Search the corpse of that ghost and you'll find the key.

Actually, I still need to finish this quest >>

mama mia, just when i started to develop a little confidence in combat.

the way i managed to beat this one was to set up camp behind the ladders on every deck. then i summoned a scamp and when they turned his way i'd pop out and sneak attack. worked pretty well till i got to "boss". ended up taking like 20 mins but i eventually killed him.

Aye i did that same hide behind ladders trick, except I used my enchanted bow to kill the big purple dude... again though it took forever to do :p

As a blackguard warrior/thief I did the quest with no problem. As a mage I got my ass kicked constantly. Mages in this game are too underpowered.

I killed him with about 8-10 silver arrows without enchantment, didnt touch me once
