Framerate

Hi,

I have most set to high, with textures set to medium & no HD. & i get around 33 to 40fps, so when i lower everything to either medium or low its unplayable, i get around 10fps??

Im wanting higher FPS but i cannot seem to gain this with lower game settings.

I have nearly the same system and I run at these setting for smooth play. If you want to try to increase performance I suggest updating your drivers, disabling processes and cleaning your system or reformatting.

You can also try putting

-heapsize 512000

In the DOD:S launch options box.

My Settings:

1024x768
Textures High
All other settings High

I have this as the command line...-applaunch 220 -heapsize 524000 -dxlevel 90, ram which is 1 quatre of my size.

i had problems using 1/2.

i have tried the latest drivers from nvidia 91.31 % 91.33 & both have given me bad frame rates, im currently back using the 86.93 drivers..

My system uses no programs in the background, I have zero virus, malware, spyware prgram secretly hogging the system resources, i have 11 processes running, which are the only essentials to run XP.

Im getting frustrated as i cannot find a answer.

A reformat might be the best thing to try.

Are you using the latest motherboard drivers?

Also if performance is that bad I would suggest that you check to make sure nothing in underclocked. Check that your FSB and multiplier and videocard are set correctly.

What settings are recommend to you by steam? (They have the little * beside them).

STEAM recommends i have everything on high, which is fine cos my fps goto around 35 and stay, but i want more, so i lower a few things like texture, turn off HDR & AF settings, leaving AA2x on as that gives me less stuttering, but my framerate drops below 20?

Yes i have all latest drivers for sound card, gfx card & motherboard, all BIOS settings are fine. I only get this problem with DODS CSS & HL2 & Aftermath work fine on full settings. Its becoming a nuisance.

well ive decided to go for a format, i hate formatting but im hoping this will solve my issue, ive written down all my programs i need reinstalling as i dont have the disks, hopefully this will go smoothly.
