Freeware Mod Programs

Does anyone know a link they could give me to download a decent freeware or anything to make HL2 mods? Or tell me where i could find one?

Steam comes with a SDK that "Lets you make your own mod!"

So try that...Right click steam icon in systray, Play Games, scroll down to Source SDK under Tools and try that...

I know but you still need a program to actually do the mod. And thats what im lookin for.

There are no 'build me a mod' programs. Hammer, code and xsi.

you see, i tried to get XSI once and it did not work. That softimage thing just did this random thing when i thought i was downloading it. It sent me an email that didnt do anything. oh well..

for coding, you can use notepad and any open source C++ compiler.
for modeling, you use XSI
for mapping you use hammer

thats about it.
