G-man talking to the Administrator?

I can only remember two times when the G-Man appears with another character (though correct me if I'm wrong). Both are at the start of the game.
During the initial tram-ride he is sharing a car with another scientist, and then again once you pass the reception area he can be seen (and heard unclearly) speaking to another, different scientist in a sealed room.
Can anyone tell me if either of these appear again? Do we know if they are generic? Could the one in the tram be Kleiner or Walter?
I have a feeling the lab-coated man he speaks with at length is the administrator. Does anyone else have any relevant information/ideas?

He has a chat with a security guard at the start of Op4 too.

I think they're all just generic guys though.

I'm pretty sure that lab coated man is killed by a head crab after the resonance cascade occurs

I think it was just the G-man bitching at a head scientist to go ahead with the research, as I got the general feeling all the scientists felt it was a bad idea. :)

yup. feel the same way...

at one point in OP4 he is talking on his cellphone, I think that might be the administrator he's talkign to there(at the dam were the marines have captured one of those big guys)

In the begining of the game, when you see him in the train with a scientist - it's Kleiner, as some1 told me once. but it's not a hardly proven theory yet a likely one.

Yeah. It just seemed to me that it might be significant that he only talks to a couple of people apart from Shephard and Freeman.

In the op4 boot camp he can also be seen with a man who is presumably Shepard's superior officer. The G-man is basic'y a dimension hopping mystery in a suit.

But with only four scientist models, its fair to wonder if one was meant to be a slightly more defined character...

Well, we now know that Eli is intended to be the first Generic Black Scientist you meet after the RC...

I reckon he's that guy tending to Einstein in the Anomolous Materials Labs. Or maybe one of the Lambda crew. He drew the short straw?

No, the first after the Resonance Cascade. The one who tells you that you have to get to the surface. The one that opens the first retinal scanner lock for you.

Makes you wonder how Eli (and Walter for that matter) got out, given what Gordon went through to get out of that area.
Actually I suppose he might have cleared the way a little, plus he kept getting sidetracked rather than just trying to get away.

No, the first after the Resonance Cascade.

So...like I said? Sorry I didn't read your post properly, I thought you were saying 'we think' as opposed to 'we know'.

I'm not sure where the Anomolous Materials labs are, nor am I sure who Einstein is, unless you mean the one with the moustache and the weird hair...

It's kinda confirmed by the new vids. In them, Eli basically refers directly to what was said by the first black scientist you meet.

I always thought that the G-man WAS the administrator. I don't remember anything to suggest he wasn't.

The G-man is the administrator in Halflife and Opposing Force.

People though that, but a scientist in HL1 refers to him as one of The Administrator's men.

Also, Marc Laidlaw has stated that we'll meet The Administrator 'for the first time' in Half-Life 2.

i don't know anything about this subject.......

That would be the labs where you start the game. Just after the cascade you go up that elevator and there's an Einstein sitting on the floor and Eli standing over him. They are the same scientist that complained about their equipment earlier on before the accident. Eli says "I never thought I'd see a resonance cascade, let alone create one...Gordon! You're alive! Thank God for that hazard suit!"

Yup, that's Eli.

The reason that valve chose him must be because he was unlikely to be hit by the SKC. :)

SKC?

Could someone post that wav file from pak0.pak where a sci says that G-man is working for the administrator or something?

I think it's something along the lines of "The administrator's men are everywhere this morning.", or something like that.

What is the SKC?

AH NUTS!!!

Well looks like The DEXIS is back to the drawing board.... :frown:

SKC= Scientist Killing Club, I believe.

Or the Sureviokian Kharlovinisiv Cartel. Or something.

And like many others I thought that the G-man and the Administrator were one and the same, up until that fateful interview!

The scientists in the beginning, just before the test mentioned the administrator in a sentence.
