Gamepad

Hello,

I just got halflife2, and I was doubtful at first, but it's a great game. The only problem is that I come from a purely console background. And I was wondering if anyone out there in the community uses a game pad?

I know that "Halo2" is probably taboo in the forums. But I was hoping for a layout like that for Halflife2. Can anyone recommmend me a gamepad to use? (if any).

Yeah, some people here try and use a game pad for HL2. There's some program for it. Use the search button on the forums.

There is a thread here ( http://www.halflife2.net/forums/showthread.php?t=86433&highlight=joystick ) that talks about gamepads, although I think they're talking about the Xbox gamepad. Should probably work with any gamepad though, you might have to change a few buttons.

But you should really learn to use keyboard and mouse.

Hey thanks man! That was a great link. Mind you I don't think I will splice my XBOX controller to do this. But since 360 comes out in Nov, I might as well LOL.

But using the keyboard mouse is probably the best thing to do. So once again, thanks all!

Also, if you think you've got the hang of using them, fire up Counter-Strike : Source and play for a while. If you keep getting killed, search the internet for a Counter-Strike : Source guide
Seriously, Counter-Strike (Source) is the best way to train your hand-eye coordination.

I think guys, that, it depends on what people started playing with, when they first started playing a game.
I for one am so used to keyboard and a mouse game-pads really frustrate me hehe. I was at my neighborhood Best Buy the other day and trying out this XBox 360 COD2 with a game-pad. OMG! I couldn't even take a shot at this German Soldier standing still right front of me,,,,One stick turns your head and the other makes you look up and down....Fikin lol.
But this guys is the actual opposite of me..Amazing.
