I have a problem with my new computer, same as my old one infact..

GeForce 6200 256Mb Graphics Card, the AGP one..

As far as I know, there is a problem with these graphics cards that stops HL2 from running. What happened was, with my old computer, I had the same card, and HL2 got to the first loading screen, then my computer randomly restarted.

With this one, it doesn't even get there.. It starts to load, changes the screen res to 640x480, then goes black, displays the blue screen of death, so I restart computer, and says its recovered from a critial error blah blah.. Send error report, iexplore pops up saying problem with the card, nVidia are looking into it etc, and there is no known fix so far.. I got the same error with my old comp.

Old comp spec:

2.8GHz P4
512Mb RAM
GeForce XFX 256Mb 6200 Graphics Card
DX9.0c

New comp spec:

3.06GHz P4 HT
1024Mb RAM
GeForce XFX 256Mb 6200 Graphics Card
DX9.0c

If theres anything else you need to know, let me know..

Any help would be great, has anyone else got this problem? Or does anyone know of a fix for it?

Thanks all :)

umm if you used the drivers with the cd that came with the card go to nvidia.com and download latest. if you have the latest right now find an older driver and that should fix the problem of it crashing.

i have the same card, but i think mine is 128mb card. i had some probles at first, i had to update my directX and GPU drivers. I think my GPU driver is the 81.98... i think. I know theres a newer one, but i know that that one works.

i have Nvidia GeForce 4200 one of the newset but my games didnt work you could try downloading a driver older than your current card. that will make your card older. this might help as the current card you have might be to powerful for the game.
