how do i regenerate the charge on my enchanted equipment? does it come back when i repair it?

certain vendors can recharge enchanted weapons - for enchantment related stuff and custom spells, go to the Arcane University at the Emperial city. There are podiums for enchantments and custom spells - for recharging, there are NPCs taht can recahrge them for a fee.

If you have a level 25 (or above) in mysticism you can buy steal (trap?) soul spells. Cast them on an enemy and if you kill them within the time the spell lasts (mine lasts 30s) you get their souls. To be able to get the soul, you need a soul gem (there are many to be bought or found, and they have different sizes, as powerful monsters will need bigger and more expensive gems). Once you have trapped a soul, you can use that gem to recharge your weapon. As each point requires 1 gold piece to be recharged, recharging can be quite expensive.

hmm, i think ill give that a try, i have a ton of the soul gems and never knew what they were for. Thievery ftw!

thanks Roland

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but I found out how you can name your horse:

hit the ~ key
use the cursor and click on your horse and type:
SetActorFullName "name"

So, finally got the game - loving it so far. :smoking:

I'm still getting to know my way about the menus and the interface and such, just one question and I'll be on my way.

Encumberment: I currently have a capacity of 205 for items, which was once 200. I have no idea how I raised it, but suspect it might have been from amateur alchemy. Does anyone know effective ways to permanantly increase the ecumberment limit?

Cheers!

I believe strength is the attribute that drives this. I know that leveling my character is when the increase comes. There are spells and items that can be equipped to reduce this.

everyone should read through the Elder scrolls chat threads at shacknews, all 7000+ replies :) ..they've been racking up 1000+ posts every day since release. It's a treasure trove of quest help/tweaks/secrets etc

did you know there's a quest for an unbreakable lock pick? well you would if you read it at shacknews :) ...on today's chat thread, somewhere in the middle. ..might see me there :)

Are there any worthwhile destruction spells out there? It's by far my lowest skill at 41 while the rest of them are 60+ (conjuration is at 76). Thing is, the spells so far cost a lot of mana and don't deal any significant damage. I find myself much better off summon Daedra Spiders / Frost Atronarchs and whacking with my 2 handed swords than spending time with destruction spells :/

edit* Forgot to add that I'm still fairly early on in the game (I haven't even gotten to Kvatch yet).

Destruction spells that lower your enemy's attributes and skills seem more worthwhile to me. For example, casting weakness to fire on a vampire then blasting him.

Where can I get some nice conjuration spells? I haven't experimented much with it, since I don't even know how good will the creature be when I buy a spell to summon it. So far I've been summoning my stock, crappy skeleton only to raise my conjuration and get a bonus to my intellgence (cause Destruction which I use most only has an impact on Willpower; a bit stupid Int/Will system tbh).

Join the mages guild and go to Chorral, a guy named Artron-something wanders about there (short human white guy) and he sells some nice summons. He has a few level 50 spells (Summon Daedra / Flame Atronarch) and a quite a few level 75 spells (Frost Atronarch / Faded Wraith / Daedra Spider ... which btw all look ridiculously awesome).

The crappy skeleton I outgrew after a few Arena matches, there's some lower level conjuration spells at the Imperial City as well (Zombie and.. Scamp?) that you can use if you're not level 50 conjuration yet.

Hm... I don't have the weakness spells yet so I guess that's my problem so far.

when i try to get a job for the thieves guild the woman still says "im busy doing...im busy, what do you want?" has anyone else ran into this? if so what did you do??

I just encountered a Dread Zombie, darn thing won't go down :/

Any tips on how to defeat one?

It is said that the Mages Guild in Bravil specializes in Illusion Magic. I can't however find anyone who teaches (sells) that kind of magic there. Maybe this Delphine is supposed to sell these spells (some other NPC said the can sell me some bound armor spell; that's conjuration though), but actually she doesn't sell anything. Is this normal or a bug? Where can I buy those Illusion spells in Bravil?

As in for your first thieve's guild quest? Or are you talking about the lady that gives you your thieve's guild quests later on?

[SPOILER for induction to the Thieve's Guild]

You have to go back to her shack. It will be the shack closest to the "meeting place." You need to break into her place and steal the book from the table.

Oh, sorry. I wouldn't know, I haven't gotten that far in the guild yet.

Against zombies I use a tactic of attack and shield or if I have low health attack once or twice then run back and keep on doing that. Just dodge his attacks. Zombies take forever to kill but have a slow attack. Or you can use power attacks to knock them down and etc..

Regular zombies are a cakewalk, but this Dread Zombie wasted 96 'fatigue' on my 2 handed 6 damage sword + 4 Frost Atronarchs summons + 20+ Lightning spell damage that did 20 damage each cast and it still wouldn't die. Also it infected me with this Curse everytime it hit me that drained my wisdom / intelligence.

So, I just got Azura's Star.

SPOILERS!! \/

I can't seem to fit grand souls into it? It says I don't have a soul gem large enough to fit the soul even when the star is empty. Is it smaller than in Morrowind? If so, that sucks... I was planning on doing alot of enchanting.Good for recharging my weapons though, especialy when I use my bow with soul trap.

SPOILERS!! /\

EDIT: SPOILERS!! \/

I've got another problem now. I'm doing the Theives Guild quest to steal a ring from that countess. The problem is the maid I'm supposed to get information from is dead for some reason, which is odd since I don't remember even going to that castle before. Anyway, the quest marker is pointing at her corpse and I don't know what to do. I tried stealing the ring from the jewlery box but I can't give it to the person I'm supposed to and the quest marker keeps pointing at the maids corpse. I also tried using a reanimate spell I had on a staff but all that did was zombifie her and she couldn't talk...

Kill it fast, their health regenerates fairly quickly. The FASTER you kill it, the easier it goes down.

Will o Wisps can be somewhat similar as they steal your health and mana & regenreate that way, one of the best tactics is to kill it as fast as possible. You could also try keeping your distance and sniping for 3 minutes, that works too. Use an enchanted sword if you have one.

Not any normal Zombie that we're talkign about here - the DREAD ZOMBIE <instert evil laugh>. But seriosuly - you can't take it out by shooting weak arrows at it all day.

1) Go into the cave across the river from Waterside area and just dickslap vampires until they bite you.

2) Join the theifs guild and sell it to a "fencer".

anyone run into what I can only describe as the Shrine of nakedness?

it's a monolith stone that when you activate it it strips you down to your underwear and you get some sort of armor around your fist/sword ..wish I had taken a screen ..I was afraid I'd get some bad magical property on my good dwarven sword so I equiped my puny dagger instead ..you cant put it away or equip other weapons/armor until the spell goes away. I looked pretty silly running around in my underwear with just a puny dagger and a single gauntlet

If I remember correctly, there's a note on the first floor of the house that was in an urn or vase or something that broke when the ghosts came out. Take it, and the hand next to it, to the guy.

thanks :)
Another problem im having it's joining the thief guild.
when i went prision nd escaped with my warrior a woman aproached and told and gave me a letter to meet someone from the guild. however i did the same with my thief and the woman did apear. is it random?

Is anyone else having problems with Azuras Star? It doesn't fit large souls...

EDIT: After gaining a few levels it works now. Odd.

do you know if you can paint? when i click the brush it says i cant equip it

I think it'd be kinda cool if in future TES/expansions they made it so you can do alot of little things, like paint and shear sheep, make clothes out of cloth, ect, ect, you could make alot of money like that.

B_MAN said:
does anyone know how to beat that pesky painting quest? the one where you have to find who's responsible for the countess' missingn painting??

*Spoilers* Side Quest

Easy. Butter up all the folk the women tells you about. Ask them about the night, then a journal entry will tell you to start looking for clues.

1. Painting in west tower (slightly hidden hatch around boxes)
2. Paint spilled under dining room table.
3. Paint supplies in the women's (green dress) table drawer deally.

After all 3 confront the women in green (she must like you enough to confess). She confesses gives you the painting and then you head on your merry way to tell the women in blue about your marvelous detective skills.
